The planning, Research, Training, and Publication Division contributes to the overall function of the Department of Labour through the following activities;
✔ Drafting action plans including the Annual Action Plan and the Strategic Plan of the department and coordinating activities for guiding all divisions and regional offices of the department for attaining targets there under.
✔ Monitor the activities of the divisions of the department and regional offices, steering the progress review activities of regional offices of the Department and making recommendations required for sustaining the progress.
✔ Identification of training requirements for the staff of the department, provision of training required for the entire staff of the department and carrying out coordination activities required for foreign trainings.
✔ Handling internal printing activities such as printing legislation relating to labour laws and determinations of the Wages Boards required for the officials of the Department and printing labour inspection reports, monthly diaries and general forms required for field activities of labour officers etc.
✔ Gather necessary data from the divisions of the department and regional offices periodically, analyze them and preparing progress reports including Annual Performance Report and submit them on requirement.
✔ Coordinating the monthly meeting of the Commissioners of Labour and coordinating the progress review meetings conducted by the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment.
