Eligibility

Being an employee of a private or semi-government institution,

• Regardless of employment type—permanent, apprentice, temporary or casual.
• Irrespective of payment mode—piece-rate, commission, contract or piece-of-work basis.
• Whether receiving wages monthly, semi-monthly, weekly or daily.
• Even if an employee resumes work after receiving EPF benefit money.
• Even for foreign employees working in Sri Lanka.
• Including employees of organizations engaged in charity or social service activities with over 10 employees
• Across all levels of work, from labourer ranks to managerial positions.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:-

To become a member of the fund:

• Complete forms “ABH”, have it certified by your employer and submit to the relevant district labour office within 30 days of joining the service.
• Verify if the registration form has been submitted to the Labour Department within the specified time frame and confirmed by the department.

ADDITIONAL AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:-

• It’s essential to ensure that your employer remits your contributions to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka punctually, as it is your right as an employee.
• To access your account balance online, complete the Registration Form and forward it to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
• When leaving employment, secure the “B” card and retain it safely.
• You can modify your fund nominations (Information on designated beneficiaries for claiming the fund in the event of the member’s death) by filling out Forms “I”, “J”, duly attested by the employers, and submitting them to the nearest labour office.
• Inform the nearest labour office within a fortnight of the end of employment by completing Form “E”.
