Enforcement Division

Introduction

Welcome to the Labour Law Enforcement Division of the Sri Lanka Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. we are a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to protecting the rights of workers and ensuring the employers complying with all applicable Labour Law.

Staffs of the division,

Our division is responsible for a wide range of tasks including,

✔ Preparation, Examination, giving related instructions, regarding plaints and charge sheets. (In some cases, rearly relevant for certificates)
✔ Taking all steps regarding Magistrate court trial cases.
✔ Prepare and present written submissions, giving necessary advices and appear before the courts when necessary, according to the Magistrate cases.
✔ Studying and giving advice on matters referred by district offices, Zonal offices and each division.
✔ Coordination with, Department of Attorney Generals in respect of assigned cases in, District Courts, High Court, Commercial High Courts, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court assist regarding representation.
✔ Referring legal matters of Department of labour to the Department of Attorney Generals, regarding the legal opinions.
✔ Providing legal advices to the Department officers.
✔ Doing the duties relevant to the amendment of the labour legislation when necessary.
