The Role
Preparation of reports embodying information collected from the surveys conducted yearly and half yearly pertaining to the field of labour, preparation of quarterly reports using the information obtained from various institutions belonging
to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Foreign Employment and preparation of demonstration numbers for various labour grades and vocational segments on the basis of minimum salaries prescribed under the control of wages Board Ordinance are carried out by the Statistics Division.

Methods of Submission
Information may be obtained in writing through E-mail, over the telephone or by visiting the division. Facilities have been provided at the division to do reference on Survey Reports.

Specimen Forms: No specimen form is required to obtain information from the Statistics Division.

Period to be Spent for the Service: Period of time depends on the nature of information asked for.

Hours of Service: During the duly hours on any official working day.

Expenditure Relating to the Service
No fee in charged for providing information by the statistics Division. However annual publications of the division are available for purchase at prescribed prices.

Supporting Documents
A letter indicating the nature of the need of particular information will be of use to the division to know as to why the information is required. However such a letter in not compulsory.

Service Responsibilities

Special Circumstances
Statistics Division of the Department of Labour in coordination with the Department of Census and Statistics provides statistical data and other information required by the local organizations such as the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and foreign organizations such as International Labour Organization.
