main responsibility of the Labour Statistics Division is to provide accurate and timely statistical information needed by the Department of Labour to make sound evidence-based decisions.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid wpb_animate_when_almost_visible wpb_fadeInRight fadeInRight\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \" >\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<h3><strong>Main Functions of Labour Statistics Division<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2714 Issuance of \u201cAnnual Survey of Private and Semi-Government Sector Employment\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The report contains information on employment, working hours, earnings, and labour cost borne by employers in the private and semi-government sectors. To collect the necessary data for this purpose, a sample survey, selected according to the statistical methodology is conducted annually by the Labour Statistics Division.<\/p>\n<p>\u2714 Issuance of \u201cOutlook on Labour Needs of Private and Semi-Government Sector\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The Labour Statistics Division releases information on labour needs in the private and semi-government sectors by occupation, gender, age, and required qualifications based on a sample survey selected according to statistical methodology from 2023 onwards. For the year 2022, due to bad situation that existed in the country, this survey was started as research using a google form.<\/p>\n<p>\u2714 Issuance of \u201cLabour Statistics&#8221; annual report<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The report is prepared with the support of many government agencies including the Department of Census and Statistics, and the Department of Labour and includes information on Sri Lanka&#8217;s population, labour supply, earnings and living standards, and the enforcement of labour laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u2714 Issuance of National Labour
