Pledge of the Department of Labour for the International Year of the Elimination of Child Labour 2021 Year 2021 has been declared as the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labor. At the same time, Sri Lanka, a path finder country of the Global Alliance 8.7, reaffirmed its commitment to the elimination of child labor by committing to revise the current hazardous occupations regulations which regulates the employment of young persons within the age of 16-18 years during this year. The Department of Labour made this Action Pledge on 26 January 2021.
